Aloha,

The world’s first Google Buzz Firefox extension has reached v1.0. This means that I every little feature that I want in the extension is finally built in. The newest/latest feature will allow send a small summary of the article (instead of the title of the article). To do this, highlight the selection of text you’re interested in sending and then execute the extension (via hotkey or button).

Click Here Download Version 1.0 from Mozilla

From the Official Project Homepage – www.ViaBuzz.It:

General Information
Buzz It! will make a buzz status update via Gmail with the link and title of the webpage you are viewing. It will also shorten URLs with Bit.ly, allowing the user to monitor their link statistics.

Note

  1. Buzz It! is compatible with Firefox, SeaMonkey, Flock, & Mozilla Suites.
  2. All URLs/Web-Addresses are automatically shortened with Bit.ly
  3. Make sure you have your gmail and bit.ly info saved in your browser’s cookies.
  4. Anything that’s in the body of your email WILL NOT be posted to Google Buzz.

Set-Up & Functionality
After installation, go to VIEW>TOOLBARS>CUSTOMIZE and drag the “Buzz It!” button to your main toolbar.

If you don’t want to use the button, you can also use the following hotkey:
HotKeys (For Windows/*nix users): alt + windows key + /
HotKeys (For Mac users): option + command key + /

When executing the extension, the following will happen:

  1. The Gmail Compose-Message page will open in a new tab.
  2. The title of article/webpage you are viewing and the shortened address/url will go in the subject area of the email.
  3. Click send and you’re done!
